BIBLE BREAK PUBLICATIONS

July 10, 2000

After having written to the Churches of Christ in several states and finding brethren
who are holding to Acts 2:38, we continue to search for those Churches who preach
baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, and remember what they preached as they go into
the water. If someone said to you, there is no baptism in the name of the Father, Son and
Holy Ghost as men are telling the people they baptize, would your desire be to open the
Bible and prove if this is true, or could it be you are satisfied and will leave the gospel
closed?

WORDS THAT WERE SPOKEN AT GALILEE NEVER ENTERED INTO THE
CHURCH FOR BAPTISM AND REMISSION OF SINS. JESUS DIDN'T GIVE
MEN ACCESS TO MATTHEW 28:19. NOW, WILL YOU BECOME ANGRY OR
WILL YOU OPEN YOUR GOSPEL AND BY ONLY THE GOSPEL PROVE ME
TO BE WRONG? WHAT WILL YOUR DESIRE BE?

The purpose of this letter is to alert the mind. Not to make angry, or conftised more than
the people already are. There is really no baptism that was inspired of God as the Church
was being presented to the world, nor thereafter, to be preached or used in any way in
converting the people to Christ by Matthew 28:19.

Shall we deal first with the problem that men have brought upon the people? Men say,
In the name of means by the authority of, and this seems to give men the right to
choose the name in which you are to be baptized. This is not by the inspiration of God,
this belongs to men and their Greek Lexicons. Only the name of Jesus Christ holds the
power to forgive sins and add you to the Lord's Church. On the day of the resurrection
Jesus took His disciples out of Jerusalem to give them the commission of Matthew 28:19.
Do men ever ask why Jesus did this? Jesus rose from the dead at Jerusalem, the disciples
were all at Jerusalem, why take them on a journey to some other place just to say to them,
"Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son
and Holy Ghost, Teaching them to observe all things," (Matthew 28:19-20.) Could it
be that God had reserved Jerusalem for the place He would build His house, and only the
words that would be preached at Jerusalem would be the words that would open the
Church for the people to enter? You see, when we go back to the prophets and learn what
God revealed through them about the Church and how the Church would come into the
world, even the prophets deny men the use of Matthew 28:19 to be active in the Church
except the Father, Son and Holy Ghost be held within the name of Jesus Christ, (Acts
4:12 and Colossians 2:9-12.) God, Jesus Christ nor the Spirit of God authorized Matthew
28:19 as the one baptism, (Eph. 4:5.) The power of the commandments of the apostles
became the ALL POWER of Matthew 28:18. In the name of means by the authority of,
not any more, that joke is being played out, its a real tragedy that so many souls had to
die under such nonsense.

Is the apostles doctrine all we need to lead us into the True Church of Christ as it was
established at Jerusalem? (Acts 15:24-28, I Thess. 4:1-3 and 2 Peter 3:1-2 should take
away all doubt if your desire is to go to heaven. This is what Israel had, this is what the
Gentiles had, why can't it be good enough for the people today? The apostles doctrine
has become the power of God just as it was on the day of Pentecost when the Spirit
descended upon them. Let me say it again; "There is not a baptism that can be
performed in the True Church of Christ in the name of the Father, Son and Holy
Ghost as it was given at Galilee. If there had been such a baptism, would it not have
been preached by Peter on the day of Pentecost? Wasn't it Peter that was promised the
keys of the kingdom, to bind on earth God's Way for all nations to enter into it? The
moment Peter bound baptism in the name of Jesus Christ that would open the Church,
Jesus bound it in heaven, (Matthew 16:19), and now God says through Malachi, "I am
the Lord, I change not," (Malachi 3:6.) For approximately thirty five years that it took
for Matthew to be inspired to write the book of Matthew, for that many years the Church
prospered with thousands being added to it, Jews and Gentiles, what is wrong with the
understanding of men today? If Peter didn't preach Matthew 28:19 literally as it was
spoken at Galilee to Israel, and neither to the Gentiles, let all men go back to Pentecost
and regroup with a different spirit than what is m men today. Let the Churches of Christ
enjoy the unity that Jesus prayed that should exist within the Churches, and that will only
happen when all men receive the apostles doctrine. Jesus said to His disciples; "He that
receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth Him
that sent me,""(John 13:20.) When you were baptized and heard the man tell you that
he was baptizing you in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost for remission of
your sins, remember that Jesus did not authorize this baptism into the Church. If the Lord
chose not to bring Matthew 28:19 into the Church, can men do more than He?

Lets prove what we have written to be all of the truth by what is written in the Old
Testament and in the New Covenant.

Isaiah 2:2-3 alone is enough to condemn the world for having denied the name of Jesus
Christ in baptism. God through Isaiah is telling you that the house of the God of Jacob
will be built by the word of the Lord going forth from Jerusalem. Matthew 28:19 never
came from Galilee to Jerusalem. Go back and read the account of the establishing of the
Church, where do you find this order being preached? You don't find it, at least until the
Church was about thirty five years old.

Jeremiah 31:31-33, The New Covenant would come after former things had been
fulfilled and passed away. The New Covenant would begin with the house of Israel and
with the house of Judah on the day of Pentecost when the apostles doctrine would
become all of the Law for conversion. Matthew 28:19 was not released into the custody
of the apostles for making the Church known to Israel and Judah. The doctrine has been
very wrong for many years and the majority of the world has followed after the cunning
craftiness of men who has deceived the world.

Briefly let us consider the work that Jesus came to fulfill. Matthew 28:19 becomes the
one baptism, passages like John 14:26, John 16:13 and John 17:20 are taken out of then-
place. The promise of the Comforter will have no part in bringing the Church into the
world as long as men reject the commandments of the apostles and go back to Galilee for
the name to be applied to baptism. John 13:20 and Matthew 10:40 has been given for
what purpose? Today the alert is on and counting down. Time cannot be stopped, but we
can have an affect on many souls by putting forth this truth, souls do not have to die in
sin. When all of the prophets of God prophesied that the Church would begin at
Jerusalem, and when Jesus came into the world. He was not indifferent to what God had
taught through the prophets, both the Lord and the prophets agreed that only the word of
the Lord that would be preached at Jerusalem would be the words that would save the
world. All that Jesus taught during His life would be brought to the remembrance of the
apostles by the Spirit coming upon them. Jesus said; "He shall teach you all things, and
bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you," (John
14:26.) Those will be the words that will change your life, not necessarily what Jesus
might have said before the Spirit came.

THE DWELLING PLACE OF MATTHEW 28:19
No man will eliminate this passage as being of none effect in man coming to Christ and being added to the Church, neither will man remove it from the place God has inspired it to be forever. That dwelling place is the name of Jesus Christ. On the day of the resurrection, Jesus made known to the disciples what their work would consist of, this came out of Galilee. The day of the ascension, Jesus made known to them how Matthew 28:19 would be preached for the forgiveness of sin. "That repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem," (Luke 24:45-47.) This is not a mistake on God's part, I am not sure that its an innocent oversight on the part of man. Man has willingly and purposely made one of the greatest mistakes that will ever be known to the world. Can it be corrected? Yes, by returning the baptism of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost back to its dwelling place, in the name of Jesus Christ where God inspired it to be for all generations to come, (Acts 2:39.) Understanding Acts 4:12 and Colossians 2:9-12 will allow you to return from which you have been removed by the doctrines of men. "For in Him dwelleth ALL the fullness of the Godhead bodily, (The Father, Son and Holy Ghost), And ye are complete in Him which is the head of ALL principality and power," (Colossians 2:9-10.) The words told to the disciples at Galilee is not for the forgiveness of your sins and adding you lo the True Church of Christ. Only the words that were preached at Jerusalem has the power to do that for you. And now you know. The apostles by the Spirit of God said nothing about the commission from Galilee except through, in and by the name of Jesus Christ. May God bless you in your study of His word. All of the truth is out in the open, no excuse will be accepted as you stand in judgment with the Lord for you having not been baptized in His Name, In the name of Jesus Christ, (Phil.2:9-10.) When Matthew 28:19 is made active in baptism as men are verbally speaking to the people as they are being baptized, voids everything that Jesus set forth that would come by the Spirit for giving birth to His Church.
